TRANSFER WINDOW- LIVE UPDATES- WHICH PREMIER LEAGUE SIDE HAS DONE THE BEST BUSINESS?

The January Transfer Window is usually a time in which clubs look to strengthen their sides. So far this window plenty of Premier League sides have splashed the cash, breaking club transfer records in order to improve their sides. Ahead of the deadline on Wednesday evening, we have decided to break down the business so far to decide which side has done well from the transfer window.

Liverpool has been the big spenders in the transfer window this year, shelling out a club record fee of £75m to secure the services of long-term target Virgil van Dijk from Southampton. The Dutch international made a dream start to life at Liverpool, scoring the winner against rivals Everton in the FA Cup.

Whilst Liverpool parted ways with Brazilian attacker Philippe Coutinho for a record £145m fee to Spanish giants Barcelona. Reds coach Jurgen Klopp has been clear in recent days that his sides don’t need any further signings. However with Liverpool still in the Champions League, and facing a battle for a top 4 finish do they need further strengthening ahead of the close of the transfer window.

Manchester United have grabbed the headlines so far with the signing of Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal. This is arguably the biggest transfer in Europe in January, and after a protracted transfer saga which saw both Manchester City & Manchester United battling it out for the Chilean’s signature.

In the end, it was Jose Mourinho’s side who won out, offering bigger wages to get the deal done. Whilst Armenian playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan headed to Arsenal, ridding Mourinho of a player who wasn’t playing and adding further options to the Red Devil’s front line.

Elsewhere and Everton signed Turkish striker Cenk Tosun & Theo Walcott from Galatasaray & Arsenal to further bolster their front line. Chelsea added Ross Barkley to the side for the reasonable price of £15m to add some competition in midfield.

Relegation strugglers Huddersfield have spent £10m to pick up Alex Pritchard from Championship side Norwich. Newly promoted Brighton have smashed their transfer record to sign Dutch attacker Jürgen Locadia from PSV. Both clubs will be hoping the new signings will give them enough to avoid relegation.

So which side in the Premier League has so far done the best business so far in the January transfer window so far?
