Our development squad face the first of two league games in five days when they travel to Southport to take on Everton in Premier League 2 this evening, live on Chelsea TV.
Joe Edwards’s side have won six of their last seven games in all competitions, a run that has seen them advance to the Checkatrade Trophy semi-finals and collect six of an available nine PL2 points. Their most recent outing on the road was a 5-0 victory at Sunderland in which Callum Hudson-Odoi, yesterday’s first team debutant, netted a hat-trick.
A victory on Merseyside would move the Blues to within three points of fourth-place Everton, who were national champions last term.
Kick-off at the Merseyrail Community Stadium is 7pm tonight (Monday) and the game will be screened live on Chelsea TV. Supporters wishing to attend can purchase tickets on the turnstiles priced at £5 for adults and £3 for concessions.
